Our Head of Boys’ Boarding, Evan Shillabeer, has overseen the welfare of our boy boarders for more than a decade.
Boarders in Years 7-10 share rooms in pairs and study in the Prep Room under supervision. Year 11 boarders have individual study-bedrooms where they sleep and study under the supervision of Boarding House Supervisors and Tutors. Year 12 boys live in the DD Harris Wing where they are supervised by residential staff.
Each boy in Campbell House is a member of a small close-knit tutorial group of about 12 boys, these groups are named: Marley, Vicious, Zappa, Hendrix and Jagger. Each tutorial group is looked after by a dedicated Tutor and one or two Tute captains (Year 12 boys) assist with the pastoral care needs of boys in their group. All tutors have varied academic backgrounds so they can assist the boys with their schoolwork across a wide range of subjects. A dedicated Maths Tute is offered on Thursday evenings each week.
In addition to the tutors, there are four House Supervisors in Campbell House. These House ‘mothers’ are on hand, night and day, to assist boys with anything from simple first aid to consoling a boy if he is upset.
Our boarders should get a minimum of 8 hours sleep a night and all internet devices are locked away (for Years 7 – 10) prior to bed-time.
