The School
Pembroke is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding school from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Diploma Program and the Primary Years Programme (PYP).

The Role
We are seeking an experienced English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher to join our vibrant Junior School team. The successful applicant will provide language and literacy learning and education of EAL students in the Junior School, from Early Learning Centre to Year 6.

With direction and support from the Head of Junior School, Coordinator of Junior School Learning Support, and Coordinator of EAL, the EAL Teacher will provide an instructional approach to advancing EAL students’ English proficiency and learner attributes to enable them to move through their studies, with the language skills required to undertake the other aspects of their education.

The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will hold appropriate qualifications as an EAL Teacher and have experience in the nuances of English language learning. They will be able to create a supportive learning environment in which EAL students feel able to achieve their potential and overcome the language barrier.

The EAL Teacher will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively. They will have a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of different learning styles to accommodate the individual needs of each EAL student.
