Pembroke is seeking a suitably experienced applicant to undertake the role of Reception Classroom Assistant.

Permanent, part time
15 hours per week during term time
40 weeks per year

Pembroke is seeking a suitably experienced applicant to undertake the role of Reception Classroom Assistant. This is a permanent, part time, working 15 hours per week during term time (40 weeks per year). The successful candidate will:

  • Provide educational assistance to the Reception teachers
  • Work with individuals and small groups of children, including providing literacy and numeracy support
  • Provide general classroom support to Reception teachers
  • Work as a collaborative part of the Junior School team.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and work with a range of stakeholders, in particular young people
  • Confidence working with both individuals and small groups of children, under the direction of teaching staff
  • A proactive approach, a commitment to collaborating with others and the ability to work as part of a team or independently
  • Current Working with Children Check, Reporting Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Training certification and First Aid qualifications
  • Recent experience in a similar role in a School environment is desirable but not essential.
