Cricket Club

The Pembroke Old Scholars’ Cricket Club is actively seeking new players. There are four teams, each playing in the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association. The A's are in A1 Premier Grade, B's in B2, C Grade in C2 Division and D's in Limited Overs 'D' grade. The A's, B's and C’s play two day matches over consecutive Saturdays on the top oval of Haslam and the C's play one day cricket (40 overs per side) in the South Parklands, Park 17 (Corner Greenhill and Glen Osmond Roads). Training is held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.30pm to 7.30pm (encouraged but optional) at the Kensington Oval (Olympic Sports Field) nets, from early September. All games are played on Saturdays from October to March.

Social and formal functions are held at the Kensington Hotel, Thornton Street, Kensington - just down the road from the School. Please check with the President or Coaches for times and dates. Thursday nights after training and Saturdays after the game are regular occasions at the Kensington Hotel (again, encouraged but optional). All new players of any calibre are welcome at any stage through the season. Over the past few seasons, there has been a return of a number of Old Scholars, some from district cricket ranks and others just showing renewed enthusiasm to play cricket again. Numerous past captains of the First XI have played at the club in recent seasons and other players have come to the club straight out of School. The club encourages all old scholars and friends to come and play for fun and fitness over the summer months.
